Can an author/illustrator “make it” in a world that demands all of our waking energy and creativity? I recently had to make a sudden move to a small town to exit a problematic situation and all of my energy and creativity is going toward coping. I know there are others out there in the same boat who have issues and major roadblocks to productivity. My life is kind of not my own at the moment, and the muse has disappeared into the murky realms of my subconscious– waiting for happier and sunnier times to make an appearance.
